Jumping from a moving vehicle can result in death or serious injury.
Situations:
(1) suicidal person
(2) strong psychological impulse without suicidal intent
(3) psychosis
(4) intoxicated person
(5) arrested suspect or other person trying to escape from the vehicle
(6) unrestrained small child
Factors determining consequences:
(1) speed of the vehicle
(2) presence of other vehicles that may strike the person
(3) surface at impact including any guardrail or physical structure
(4) adjacent drop-off (bridge, cliff)
