Description

The body mass index is an indirect measure of obesity which can be used to assess children and adolescents. Data was collected in White boys and girls to allow comparison of child with others of the same age and gender.


body mass index in kg per square meter =

= (body weight in kilograms) / ((height in meters)^2)

= 703.1 * (body weight in pounds) / ((height in inches)^2)
