WHO Criteria for Mast Cell Tumor (Mastocytoma)

The World Heath Organization (WHO) developed criteria for the diagnosis of mast cell tumors (mastocytoma).

Types:

(1) cutaneous mastocytoma (solitary mastocytoma of skin)

(2) extracutaneous mastocytoma

(3) mast cell sarcoma

General features:

(1) unifocal tumor of mast cells

(2) does not meet the criteria for systemic mastocytosis
