The World Health Organization (WHO) published criteria for acute and subacute toxic effects on the urinary tract following cancer therapy.

(1) blood urea nitrogen or creatinine

<= 1.25 times the upper limit of reference range (ULN)

where:

• A small amount of urine is usually present in the urine. According to Tietz (Clinical Guide to Laboratory Tests, Third Edition, 1995) this is 1-14 mg/dL (0.01 – 0.14 g/L).
