Description

Traumatic injury to the nonpregnant uterus can be graded using the Uterus (Nonpregnant) Injury Scale.

superficial (<= 1 cm deep)

deep (> 1 cm)

III

 

involving a uterine artery

IV

 

avulsion

vascular

devascularized

V

 

If more than 1 injury is present, then advance grade by 1 up to Grade III.

• I assume the advance in grade for multiple injuries applies for Grade II to III but not III to IV (see Testis Injury Scale).
