Description

Moran et al used both the physiological strain index based on heart rate alone (PSI-HR) and environmental stress index (ESI) to guide management of persons during environmental exposures. This can help reduce adverse effects due to excessive physiologic stress. The authors are from the Heller Institute of Medical Research in Tel Hashomer, Israel, and the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine in Natick, Massachusetts.
