Description

The PACE+ (Patient-Centered Assessment and Counseling for Exercise Plus Nutrition) questionnaire can provide a rapid assessment of physical activity in adolescents. This can help to identify adolescents who need to increase their activity level. The authors are from San Diego State University and the University of California San Francisco.


 

Activity Measure

Points

number of days in the past week when physically activity for 60 or more minutes for that day

number of days (0 to 7)

number of days in a typical or usual week when physically active for 60 or more minutes for the day

number of days (0 to 7)

 

where:

• Physical activity is any activity that increases the heart rate and makes the person out of breath some of the time. This may include sports, playing with friends, or walking.

• The tally does not include time spent in physical education or gym classes.

 

average score =

= ((points for past week) + (points for usual week)) / 2

 

Interpretation:

• minimum average score: 0

• maximum average score: 7
