Description

Walker and Greene developed the Functional Disability Inventory (FDI) to evaluate disability in school age children and adolescents. It can be used to measure the outcome following an intervention. The authors are from Vanderbilt University.

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 60

• The higher the score the more severe the child's disability.

 

Performance:

• Construct, concurrent and predictive validity was demonstrated.

• The instrument was sensitive to changes in the patient's functional status.

• In patients with chronic conditions, test results were stable over time.
