Description

The European Group for Bone Marrow Transplant (EBMT) developed a risk score for patients with chronic myeloid leukemia treated with haematopoietic transplantation. This can help separate patients at the time of transplant into risk groups for overall survival, leukemia-free survival and transplant related mortality

Parameters:

(1) donor type

(2) stage of disease at time of transplantation

(3) patient's age

(4) sex combination of recipient and donor

(5) interval between diagnosis and transplant

where:

• HLA-identical sibling and matched unrelated donor should not be all of the possible donor types. I will add an "other" to the implementation worth 1 point.

• The interval is listed as < 12 and > 12 months (equal to 12 months not specified).

= SUM(points for all 5 parameters)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 7

• The higher the score the worse the prognosis.45.5
