Description

The Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) can be used to determine the level of impairment felt by a patient with dizziness. It incorporates measurement of emotional, functional and physical impacts of the dizziness on the person's life. The authors are from Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.

Interpretation:

• The higher the score, the greater the handicap.

 

Performance:

• The instrument showed good internal consistency.

• Test-retest reliability was high.

• The emotional and functional subscores increased with the frequency of dizziness episodes.
