Description

Hassanyeh et al used a simple score for psychiatrists to clinically rate the severity of a patient's clinical depression.

Items:

(Section A-2) appears agitated or retarded

(Section A-3) mixing with others

(Section B) patient's expressed feelings

Each item is scored at one of 4 levels from 0 (normal) to 3 (severe).

= SUM(points for all 4 items)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 12

• The higher the score, the greater the depression.
