Description

A person treated with methotrexate may develop a reactivation of a previous sunburn (recall reaction).


 

Clinical features:

(1) recurrence of a previous sunburn in the absence of sun exposure

(2) recent history of methotrexate therapy

 

Most patients have a single recall reaction, but rarely it may occur with subsequent doses of methotrexate.

 

Exclusion:

(1) photosensitivity

(2) sunburn due to sun exposure

(3) erythroderma from other cause
