Risk factors:
(1) carelessness (see below)
(2) unsafe equipment (machines without protective measures)
(3) failure to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves
(4) poor illumination or vision (unable to see clearly)
(5) fatalistic attitude towards workplace accidents
Carelessness may be related to:
(1) long hours of work
(2) physical and/or mental exhaustion
(3) medications
(4) intoxication
(5) illness
