Description

Fautrel et al reported criteria for the therapeutic response of a patient being treated for adult Still's disease. The authors are from Pitie-Salpetriere Hospital, Hautepierre University Hospital, Bicetre Hospital and Lapeyronie University Hospital in France.


 

Clinical and laboratory features of adult Still's disease:

(1) fever

(2) evanescent rash

(3) polyarthralgias

(4) lymphadenopathy

(5) hepatosplenomegaly

(6) leukocytosis

(7) elevated liver function tests

(8) elevated ESR

(9) elevated serum ferritin concentration

 

Response

Criteria

complete

complete disappearance of all clinical and laboratory abnormalities (imaging studies may show joint erosions)

partial

persistence of one or more clinical or laboratory findings

failure

absence of significant improvement within 3 months of starting treatment
