Description

The Spanish MRI (S-MRI) was developed to describe bone marrow involvement for a patient with Gaucher's disease based on the MRI findings.

Sites examined:

(1) vertebrae

(2) pelvis

(3) both femurs

Parameters:

(1) MRI pattern

(2) complications at site (avascular necrosis, bone infarct, collapse)

= SUM(points for all 3 sites)

Interpretation:

• minimum subscore: 0

• maximum subscore: 8

• minimum total score: 0

• maximum total score: 24

• The higher the score the more severe the bone marrow involvement.
