Description

A pig exposed to a typical strain of influenza that affects pigs may present with a number of clinical signs and symptoms.


 

Signs and symptoms of influenza in swine:

(1) coughing ("barking")

(2) breathing difficulties

(3) sneezing

(4) nasal discharge

(5) high fever

(6) poor eating ("going off feed")

 

Most cases are generally mild and deaths are uncommon.
