Description

Elliott et al developed a simple risk score for evaluating patients with primary myelofibrosis. This is a modification of the Dupriez prognostic score and incorporates the monocyte count. The authors are from the Mayo Clinic and the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Patient selection: age <= 60 years with primary myelofibrosis

Parameters:

(1) hemoglobin

(2) leukocyte count

(3) platelet count

(4) absolute monocyte count

= SUM(points for all 4 parameters)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 4

• The higher the score the worse the survival.
