Description

Krames et al use the SAFE (safe, appropriate, fiscally neutral, effective) principles when selecting a therapeutic option. These can help to make rational decisions.

A therapy should be considered if it is:

(1) safe (does no harm)

(2) appropriate (indications for its use)

(3) fiscally neutral (The cost of the therapy is comparable to a standard therapy over a given period of time, not just initially).

(4) effective (works)
