Description

The River Rating Scale can be used to describe the features of a river applicable for navigation by small craft (canoes, rafts or kayaks).


 

Parameters:

(1) speed of the water

(2) obstacles (bends, rocks, rapids, waves, holes)

(3) skill level

(4) scouting and planning
