Description

Diamandidou et al identified factors associated with a large cell transformation for a patient with Mycosis Fungoides or Sezary Syndrome (MF/SS). This can identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

• Sezary syndrome by definition is at least Stage III.

number of risk factors associated with transformation =

= SUM(points for the parameters)

Interpretation:

• minimum number of risk factors for transformation: 0

• maximum number of risk factors for transformation: 3

• The risk of transformation increases with the number of risk factors present.
