Reasons to suspect:

(1) unprotected exposure

(2) early age or other atypical features for heart disease

(3) exclusion of other causes

 

Differential diagnosis – other causes of cardiovascular disease:

(1) viral infection

(2) smoking

(3) diabetes

(4) amyloid

(5) family history
