Description

Although safe when properly used, pneumatic nail guns can cause a wide range of injuries, some of which can be fatal.


 

Risk factors for injuries with a pneumatic nail gun:

(1) intoxication

(2) other worker impairment (drowsiness, medication, illness)

(3) lack of training

(4) working in a hurry

(5) error in assumptions (there is a stud on the other side)

(6) intentional (homicide or suicide)

(7) equipment malfunction (trigger misfire, etc)

(8) ricochet after discharge

(9) slip

(10) horsing around
