Description

The Rheumatoid Arthritis Disease Activity Index (RADAI) is a self-administered instrument derived from the Rapid Assessment of Disease Activity in Rheumatology (RADAR) questionnaire. The authors are from Harvard Medical School and the University of Zurich.

The RADAI consists of:

(1) 3 numerical rating scale questions for disease activity

(2) 1 Likert scale question on joint stiffness

(3) a survey of 16 joints for pain (8 bilateral sites)

Numerical Rating Scale Questions:

(1) In general, how active has you arthritis been over the past 6 months?

(2) In terms of joint tenderness and swelling, how active is your arthritis today?

(3) How much arthritis pain do you feel today?

These questions are scored from 0 to 10, with 0 none to 10 extreme.

Likert Scale Question:

(4) Were your joints stiff when you woke up today? If yes, how long did the extra stiffness last?
