Description

Marino and Goin developed the Quadriplegia Index of Function (QIF) for evaluation of impairment in patients with quadriplegia. The authors are from Thomas Jefferson University and Data Medix Corporation.

Feeding (6):

(1) drink from glass or cup

(2) use a fork or spoon

Bed activities (5):

(7) moving from supine to prone

(8) change from lying to long sitting

(9) moving from supine to side

(10) moving from side to side

(11) ability to maintain balance while long sitting

 

Grooming (2):

(12) brushing teeth and/or managing dentures

(13) brushing or combing hair

 

Bathing (4):

(14) washing and drying upper body

(15) washing and drying lower body

(16) washing and drying feet

(17) washing and drying hair

 

Transfers (8):

(18) moving from bed to chair

(19) moving from chair to bed

(20) moving from chair to toilet or commode

(21) moving from toilet or commode to chair

(22) moving from chair to vehicle

(23) moving from vehicle to chair
