(3) To make sure that essential tasks get performed.
Ways to protect the home:
(1) Hold deliveries of mail and newspapers.
(2) Have a neighbor or friend pick up any packages that have been delivered.
(3) Have a neighbor, friend or service maintain the yard.
(4) Have a neighbor or friend set out garbage cans and take them in on the appropriate day.
(5) Board any pets or have someone feed and maintain them.
(6) Consider getting a house sitter.
(7) Get a regular security system, or get a security system that allows remote access over the internet.
(8) Have a system to turn lights on and off according to a predetermined and alternating schedule.
