Description

Caillard et al developed a prognostic score for a patient who develops a post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) following a renal transplant. This can help to identify a patient who may benefit from more aggressive management. The authors are from multiple hospitals in France.

Patient selection: PTLD following renal transplant

Parameters:

(1) age and serum creatinine

(2) serum LDH concentration

(3) type of PTLD

where:

• Having both monomorphic and disseminated PTLD at the same time may be impossible but that is the only way to get the maximum score of 5 given in the paper.

= SUM(points for all 3 parameters)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 5

• The higher the score the worse the prognosis.
