Description

The Pemphigus Disease Activity Index (PDAI) has several subscores describing disease activity and damage. One subscore is for skin activity. The PDAI was developed by the International Pemphigus Definitions Committee.


 

Regions:

(1) eyes

(2) nose

(3) rest of face

(4) neck

(5) chest

(6) abdomen

(7) back and buttocks

(8) arms

(9) hands

(10) legs

(11) feet

(12) genitals

 

Parameters:

(1) number of lesions (erosions, blisters, new erythema)

(2) number of lesions 2.1 to 6 cm in diameter

(3) number of lesions 6.1 to 16 cm in diameter

(4) any lesions > 16 cm in diameter or covering an entire area (large)

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum skin activity subscore: 120

• The higher the score the greater the skin activity.
