The Pemphigus Disease Activity Index (PDAI) has several subscores describing disease activity and damage. One subscore is for activity affecting mucous membranes. The PDAI was developed by the International Pemphigus Definitions Committee.
Regions:
(1) eyes
(2) nose
(3) buccal mucosa
(4) hard palate
(5) soft palate
(6) upper gingiva
(7) lower gingival
(8) tongue
(9) floor of mouth
(10) labial bucosa
(11) posterior pharynx
(12) anogenital
Scoring:
(1) number of lesions
(2) number of lesions > 2 cm in diameter
(3) number of lesions involving an entire region

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 120
• The higher the score the greater the involvement of the mucous membranes.
