The value of a prognostic factor can be scored according to its value, or its P score.

Exclusion: A predictive factor with no prognostic value.

Parameters:

(1) prognostic value

(2) statistical independence

(3) number of studies performed to validate

(4) independent of disease extent (stage for a tumor)
