Paksaichol et al developed a simple score to identify an office worker who is at risk for disability from nonspecific neck pain. The authors are from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand.
Patient selection: office worker
Parameters:
(1) history of neck pain
(2) uses an adjustable chair in the office

Interpretation:
• minimum score: 0
• maximum score: 4
• The higher the score the greater the risk of nonspecific neck pain with disability.
• A score >= 2 was used to identify an office worker at risk for neck pain with disability. This worker should be targeted for an intervention to reduce the risk.
Performance:
• A score >= 2 had a sensitivity of 82% and specificity of 48% for neck pain with disability.
• The area under the ROC was 0.75.
