Description

During an intermittent infusion the minimum concentration at steady state is just before the start of the next infusion.

At the end of the dosing interval the time since the dosing interval started = the dosing interval. The equation in the previous section then becomes:

plasma drug concentration at steady state levels =

= (infusion rate) / (clearance) * (1 - EXP((-1) * k * (infusion period))) * EXP((-1) * k * ((dosing interval) - (infusion period))) / (1 - EXP((-1) * k * (dosing interval)))
