Description

Jewish dietary law (Kashruth) divides animals and animal products into kosher (fit or proper) and trayfe (unfit or nonkosher).

BOTH chews cud AND has cloven hooves

does not chew cud OR have divided hooves

NEITHER wild bird of prey NOR scavenger

BOTH fins AND removable scales

NEITHER fins NOR removable scales

To remain kosher a proper animals needs to be raised, killed and prepared properly. Failure to do so can render it unfit.
