Description

Kettelkamp and Thompson developed scales for evaluating patients after knee surgery. The authors are from the Universities of Indiana and Arkansas.

Parameters:

(1) pain with activity

(2) putting on or taking off shoes and socks

(3) stairs

(4) gait

(5) synovial thickening

(6) flexion contracture

(7) flexion in degrees

(8) anterior drawer

(9) rotational instability

(10) lateral collateral ligament stability

(11) pain with flexion and extension

(12) pain on rotation

(13) varus-valgus

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 103

• The higher the score the greater the functional level.
