Description

Many patients with Klinefelter's Syndrome (KS) go undiagnosed. Kamischke et al listed a number of criteria which can help to identify a man who should have a more complete evaluation. The authors are from the University of Muenster in Germany.

Screening criteria:

(1) infertility with small testicular volume AND azoospermia

(2) elevated serum LH and FSH concentrations

(3) Barr body present

A patient suspected of having Klinefelter's syndrome should undergo further evaluation to confirm or exclude the diagnosis.
