Description

A person with a food allergy may have an allergic reaction if they kiss someone who has eaten a food to which s/he is sensitive to.

Clinical findings:

(1) A person with a food allergy develops an allergic reaction after kissing someone.

(2) The other person usually has just eaten a food that the allergic patient is sensitive to.

(3) The reaction may range from a mild reaction to anaphylaxis depending on the amount of the exposure and the sensitivity of the allergic patient to the food.

(4) The extent of the kiss may influence the likelihood of a reaction.

The sensitive person may also develop symptoms while the food is being cooked or even just sitting next to the person eating the problem food.
