Description

An elephant can cause a number of injuries depending on the nature of how it contacts its victim.


 

Sources of injury:

(1) feet

(2) tusk

(3) trunk

(4) body (pressing against the ground, a tree or other object)

 

Types of injuries:

(1) crush injury

(2) goring

(3) rib fractures

(4) asphyxiation

(5) trauma to extremities or external genitalia
