Description

Bungee cord jumping may be associated with a number of injuries. Some are related to direct injury, some are related to the deceleration and g-forces, and some are related to the attachments.


 

Injuries associated with bungee cord jumping:

(1) blunt trauma to face

(2) penetrating trauma to the head and neck

(3) head injury (subdural hematoma, skull fracture, etc)

(4) spinal cord injury with or without quadriplegia

(5) ocular trauma and/or loss of vision

(6) hearing loss

(7) headache

(8) pneumothorax

(9) pulmonary hemorrhage

(10) arterial dissection

(11) fracture of long bone(s)

(12) nerve palsy (peroneal nerve with foot drop, etc)
