Description

An adult with an acquired atrioventricular block may be a candidate for placement of a permanent implantable pacemaker if certain symptoms are present or if there is risk for sudden death.


 

First Degree Heart Block

asymptomatic with escape rhythm < 40 beats per minute

after catheter ablation of the AV junction

 

 

postoperative and not expected to resolve

 

 

associated with neuromuscular disease
