Jensen Index of Social Function

Jensen developed an index of social function for evaluating patients who had suffered a hip fracture. It can be applied to other disorders as well.

Parameters:

(1) ability to work

(2) ability to manage things by self

(3) need for assistance

possibly	can manage everything	none	1
probably not	manages household	meals-on-wheels or home-help <= 4 hours per week (limited)	2
no	manages activities of daily living	home help > 4 hours per week; help from home nurse	3
no	no	nursing home or nursing at home (totally dependent)	4

• Return to pre-fracture status with the ability to work would be the ideal (? Score 0).
