Luzi et al evaluated the functional status of islet cells following intraportal transplantation in Type 1 diabetics. The authors are from Istituto Scientifico H. San Raffaele, the University of Milan, and Justus-Liebig Universitat (Glessen, Germany).

(1) C-peptide concentration in nmol/L

(2) fasting plasma glucose (FPG) in mmol/L

(3) daily insulin dose in Units per kg per day
