Description

Satie et al proposed an equation for correcting the QT interval based on the heart rate. The study was done by the Framingham Heart Study.


 

Parameters:

(1) RR interval in seconds

(2) QT interval in seconds (according to Sagie et al)

 

linear corrected QT interval =

= (QT) + (0.154 * (1 - (RR interval))

 

Karkalainen et al noted that the equation worked for normal heart rates but failed at low or high rates. They proposed the following multiplier based on heart rate.
