Description

A part of the diver's body can be squeezed by the suit or hood during the descent.

The underlying cause is a small pocket of air in a dry suit or under the hood.

Clinical findings:

(1) skin pinching over a skin fold (or wherever the pocket of air is)

(2) bruising or erythema

(3) ear pain (if the air pocket is over the external ear).

Differential diagnosis:

(2) middle ear squeeze
