Description

Quijano et al identified factors indicative of leptomeningeal involvement in a patient with Burkitt’s lymphoma. These can help to identify a patient who should undergo additional testing to confirm the diagnosis. The authors are from multiple universities in Spain.

Interpretation:

• minimum score: 0

• maximum score: 2

• A score of 2 is specific for leptomeningeal involvement (100%).

• A score of 1 is suspicious for leptomeningeal disease (50% chance)

• Flow cytometry of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is the most accurate of establishing the diagnosis of leptomeningeal disease.
