Description

A patient with Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome secondary to a small cell lung cancer (SCLC) may develop autonimic dysfunction and erectile dysfunction.


Clinical features:

(1) presence of Lambert-Eoton Myasthenic Syndrome

(2) development of autonomic dysfunction

(3) development of erectile dysfunction

(4) discovery of a small cell undifferentiated lung carcinoma

 

The diagnosis requires exclusion of other causes:

(1) age-related erectile dysfunction

(2) diabetes or other comorbid condition

(3) depression

 

The erectile dysfunction precedes any chemoradiation for the tumor. Treatment of the tumor may cause the erectile dysfunction to improve, stay the same or get worse.
