Dose Adjustment in for AndroGel (Topical Testosterone Gel)

The dose of testosterone gel may be adjusted based on serum testosterone levels and other factors.

 

Brand of testosterone gel: AndroGel

 

Unit of dose: 20.25 mg (= 1 pump from the dispensor)

 

Minimum daily dose: 1 unit (20.25 mg)

Maximum daily dose: 4 units (81 mg)

Serum Testosterone Concentration	Action
>= 350 ng/dL and <= 750 ng/dL	Leave daily dose unchanged.
< 350 ng/dL	Increase daily dose by 1 unit.
> 750 ng/dL	Decrease daily dose by 1 unit.

 

The dose may also be lowered if there are dose-dependent adverse effects. If these are serious enough then the gel should be discontinued.
