Some patients with diabetic neuropathy may have findings similar to the tabes dorsalis of late neurosyphilis (so-called diabetic pseudotabes).
Clinical findings in diabetic pseudotabes:
(1) pupillary response to light sluggish
(2) ptosis
(3) neuropathic pains
(4) ataxic gait
(5) absent deep tendon reflexes
