A patient with dermatomyositis (DM) sine myositis has all of the features of dermatomyositis except for the myositis.
Synonym: amyopathic dermatomyositis
Features:
(1) cutaneous findings of dermatomyositis
(2) skin biopsy changes consistent with dermatomyositis
(3) absence of mucle involvement during long-term follow-up.
(4) no other explanation for the findings
Differential diagnosis:
(1) delayed appearance of myositis
(2) dermatomyositis with myositis responsive to therapy but skin changes persistent
