The Convergence Insufficiency and Reading Study (CIRS) Group Symptom Questionnaire is a symptom survey instrument which can be used to help identify children with convergence insufficiency.
The parent is asked a series of 15 questions about the child's sight.
The child is asked questions that are a rewording of the first 13 questions asked of the parents.

• A child's score >= 9 was 86% sensitive and specific for identifying a child with convergence insufficiency, with a odds ratio of 36.
