Conditions associated with immunodeficiency can predispose a patient to severe and/or chronic isosporiasis.
Conditions that may predispose the patient to severe or chronic isosporiasis:
(1) adult T-cell leukemia
(2) ALL
(3) Hodgkin's disease
(4) non-Hodgkin's lymphoma
(5) CLL, myeloma or other chronic lymphoproliferative disorders
(6) transplant recipients (liver, kidney, other)
(7) AIDS
(8) malabsorption syndrome
(9) malnutrition
(10) immunosuppressive therapy
