The Common Toxicity Criteria (CTC) define adverse events following cancer therapy. It was designed for use in clinical trials of different therapeutic regimens.
Types of pain:
(1) abdominal pain or cramping
(2) arthralgia (joint pain)
(3) bone pain
(4) chest pain (non-cardiac and non-pleuritic)
(5) dysmenorrhea
(6) dyspareunia
(7) earache (otalgia)
(8) headache
(9) hepatic pain
(10) myalgia (muscle pain)
(11) neuropathic pain (includes jaw pain, neurologic pain, phantom limb pain, post-infectious neuralgia or painful neuropathies)
(12) pain due to radiation
(13) pelvic pain
(14) pleuritic pain
(15) rectal or perirectal pain (proctalgia)
(16) tumor pain (onset or exacerbation of tumor pain due to treatment)
(17) other
NOTES:
(1) Arthritis (joint pain with signs of inflammation) is graded in the "Musculoskeletal" category.
(2) Dysuria is graded in the "Renal/Genitourinary" category.
(3) Tumor flare is graded in the "Syndrome" category.
